Simulation consists of a treatment planning CT scan taken of the specific area to be treated and taken in the position of treatment. This is for treatment planning purposes only and not for making a diagnosis, therefore you will not be given a report. Some simulation procedures require the use of an x-ray contrast or dye, your physician or staff will let you know whether or not this will be needed. Specialized treatment devices will be used to position your body so that the same exact position can be duplicated during the treatment process. In some markings may be put on the skin. Simulation takes about fifteen minutes and it is not painful.
